first harry's!

as i've said, i joined samford's student activities council (sac) for this new year. well part of sac is a weekly coffee house called "harry's" where local bands and up-and-coming singer/songwriters come perform for the samford community. well i'm not part of the harry's co-hair group, but i LOVE helping out... which they know, and helping out with this first night was awesome!

drew and ellie holcomb came, and stephen gordon opened for them. i LOVE that trio of people, they are all so awesome. their music is great and i love catching up with miss ellie, who also brought her crazy brother will, who is still one of my favorite people and best friends from high school.

all in all the night was so fun and the harry's co-chairs are doing an awesome job at future planning and new ideas for harry's. shout out to sarah hunt, trevor starnes and matt davidson!!

here are a few pictures from the night....

old man winter ain't done yet

yesterday was gorgeous, enough to make me want to start a blog. and today it's cold.. freezing cold and windy and gloomy, and according to my suite mate snow is coming tonight. boo! but i dressed up cute today for no apparent reason so it's alright.

today was BUSY. i've been running since 8, but i love it. i love having days perfectly planned out with one thing ending and another beginning right after it. i'm weird, i know. plus i got a lot of things done, so that just adds to the hype.

i've almost completed my first project in final cute pro for my journalism class and i'm  pretty proud of my group's work (just need to add some music and transitions to shots and we're done!) AND i had my first office hours for student activity council with my partnering co-chair for spring fling this year. we've got some pretty good ideas and we're excited to see how they flesh out.

along with that stuff i have a midterm coming up, housing signups, a fiction and film project, sac meetings, nbs meetings, sojourn meetings, and finding out if i've been accepted to study abroad in london next semester coming up. so many exciting and busy-ing things! i can't wait for this semester to really start kicking into gear.

thanks for letting me vent my dorky obsession with organization.

i've decided...

i really like pictures.. i think i'm a really visual person, so if i post too many pictures on this blog, i apologize. so consider that a warning.. ;)

but for WAY more exciting news: i'm going to my first music festival this april! rites of spring at vanderbilt. should be pretty awesome, the lineup is SICK. it includes 2 of my absolute favorite bands that i have been dying to see for over a year....

passion pit

phoenix

oh... uh... and drake... who is also pretty cool..
so i'm KINDA excited!

shh!

i made a blog.. don't tell anyone. i didn't want to join the crowd of bloggers just because it was the current trend. i'm enough of a follower as is, i didn't see the need to add another trend to the list. BUT i've always been notoriously horrible at keeping a journal, and while twitter does allow you to share random little bits of neurotic brilliance it's not quite the same.

so here's my blog. i'm not promising to be good at this or seem like a really cool person for posting awesome photos or links to the cutest clothes you've ever seen (though i do envy some people's ability to find the coolest stuff ever to put on their blogs). and i'm only saying that because i'm pretty sure i'm gonna be horrible and probably forget this is up here.

but we'll hope not. and for now, while i'm getting my sea legs i'm pretty sure we're gonna keep this little thing hush hush and not tell people it's here. i kinda like talking to no-one in particular. maybe i should never tell my friends it's here... we'll see.
